Who is behind the measurements

SAMD Solutions started as an engineering services provider and today operates two test centres. What has stayed the same is the way we work: you talk to the people who also do the measuring and the evaluation.

How it fits together

EMC Labs and SAMD Solutions

EMC Labs is the specialised division of SAMD Solutions for pre-compliance EMC measurements, root cause analysis and technical consulting. If a measurement leads on to more extensive electronics, software or systems engineering, the engineering team at SAMD Solutions can support the implementation.

Why we stayed with EMC

EMC problems show up late. Usually the product is almost finished when the first measured value exceeds the limit – and by then every change is expensive. That is exactly where we moved from consulting into measurement.

What keeps us there: an anomaly has a cause. Finding it is a craft, not luck – it takes measurement equipment, a setup you are allowed to change, and someone who thinks about both together.

The team brings together electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science and environmental engineering. That mix helps when an EMC anomaly involves layout, mechanics, cabling and software at the same time.

Alongside measuring and consulting, we do our own development work and run a workshop. Changes to the test setup can therefore be made on site and measured straight afterwards.

Who you will be speaking to

Enquiries, measurement strategy and evaluation do not go through a sales desk. Whoever answers your enquiry also works on the measurement.

Managing Director

Why we founded SAMD.

We founded SAMD because technical problems in complex development projects are often looked at too late and too much in isolation. For us, hardware, embedded software, EMC and testing belong together from the very beginning.

Our aim is to make risks visible early and to accompany technical decisions so that individual work packages add up to a robust overall system. To do that, we combine engineering depth with direct collaboration and clear responsibility within the project.

How it came about

Over the years, consulting turned into our own measurement facilities – because causes are easier to find when measuring and development happen in the same place.

  1. 2018

    Founded

Started as an engineering services provider.

  2. later

    Shielded chamber in Meine

Our own shielded chamber for immunity testing, near-field investigations and troubleshooting.

  3. 2023

    Prototype lab in Meine

A development bench right next to the measurement environment, so changes to the setup can be checked immediately.

  4. 2025

    Fully anechoic chamber in Harbke

A second site with a fully anechoic chamber for radiated emissions measurements.

How we work

  • Understand first, then change

We look for the cause of an anomaly instead of swapping measures on suspicion. What we recommend is backed by measured values.

  • Close to development

We work together with development teams and align measurements with their questions – not with a standard package.

  • Talk about limits openly

What our test centres cannot do, we say up front. If an accredited test makes more sense, we recommend that route.

  • Interdisciplinary

Electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science and environmental engineering in one team – useful when an anomaly can have several causes.
